Saxophone Courses at London Music School
Year Btec National Award in Music Performance to our own Six Month and One Year LMS Certificate Courses,We also run a variety of part time courses and a fun but academic Summer Course all of our courses, are unique, placing an emphasis on each individual student’s personal interests and preferences and requirements for development.
Directed by Pete Grogan, a Sax player and teachers with many years of Academic and Performing experience he has worked with many famous artists and has appeared on numerous recordings and this year was nominated for a mercury award with his band "Led Bib",. The course takes the student on a journey from general music education to the more practical learning of the instrument.Pete's experience and skills of all styles of Playing are accessible to the student e.g. Rock, Classical, Blues, Soul, Jazz, Funk,Latin,Classical etc.
The course places emphasis on the need to perform and students will gain experience in areas of live performance, session playing , and being part of a band.
Saxophone Subjects
All of our full time Saxophone courses contain all the usual skills associated with Playing The Sax - Left & Right Hand Technique,Major & Minor Scales and Modes,Tone Production,Section Playing,Building Repertoire,Improvising and Performance etc plus one to one tuition group workshops,live performance,rhythm workshops ,playing in a band,recording sessions,songwriting,harmony and theory,sight-reading and more.
