Bass Courses at London Music School
At London Music School we run a variety of Bass Guitar courses from our One Year Btec National Award in Music Performance to our own Six Month and One Year LMS Certificate Courses,We also run a variety of part time courses and a fun but academic Summer Course all of our courses, are unique, placing an emphasis on each individual student’s personal interests and preferences and requirements for development.
Directed by Derek Baxter, a Bass Player and teacher with many years of experience, the course takes the student on a journey from general music education to the more practical learning of the instrument. Derek’s experience and skills of all styles of playing are accessible to the student e.g. Rock, Classical, Blues, Soul, Jazz, Funk etc.
The course places emphasis on the need to perform and students will gain experience in areas of solo performance, session playing, accompaniment skills, and being part of a band.
Bass Guitar Subjects
All of our full time Bass courses contain all the usual skills associated with learning the Bass Guitar Left & Right Hand Technique,Applied Fingerboard
Time & Groove Playing,Slap, Dead Note Finger Funk, Walking Bass,Soloing, Harmonics, Technique etc plus one to one tuition group workshops,live performance,rhythm workshops ,playing in a band,recording sessions,songwriting,harmony and theory,sight-reading ,backing vocalists and more
